Outdoor (exterior) wooden blinds
SKIRPUS company designs and manufactures durable and functional outdoor wooden blinds.
Outdoor blinds provide both a functional and aesthetic solution for protecting indoor spaces from the sun. Due to the natural properties of wood, they also offer excellent acoustic and thermal insulation.
Thermally stabilized wood does not warp, crack, and is resistant to water and temperature fluctuations.
The electric control system for wooden blinds can be integrated with a mobile app or smart home systems.
We provide consultations from the initial concept to the final project implementation.
We carry out measurement, installation, and maintenance services for outdoor sliding shutters in all European Union countries and also work on projects in the United Kingdom.

More about outdoor wooden blinds
FUNCTIONALITY
Outdoor wooden blinds help to conveniently adjust the amount of sunshine in the room.
They protect the home against unwanted glances, scorching sun and excessive heat from the outside.
During the cold season, outdoor wooden blinds may be fully raised to allow sunlight into the room. They also serve as an insulator reducing heat leaks through the windows.
LONGEVITY
Outdoor wooden blinds are made of thermally modified wood, which is resistant to moisture, fungi and mould, robust and mechanically stable.
All these properties ensure a long service life of outdoor wooden blinds. Only top-quality motors and textile components made of reinforced glass fibre are used.
The whole product comes with a 3-year warranty.
SLANTED AND TRAPEZE WINDOWS
Outdoor wooden blinds may be produced for non-standard (slanted or trapeze) windows.
Non-standard shape of outdoor wooden blinds will further highlight architectural solutions and decorate the façade.
WIND RESISTANCE
To ensure the stability of outdoor wooden blinds, side profiles or stainless steel cables are installed at the sides.
Outdoor wooden blinds have wind resistance class 6 and are safe in winds of up to 25 m/s. If the wind is stronger, the sensor automatically raises the blinds, so they may be left unattended for a longer period of time.
AESTHETICS
Natural beauty of the wood gives the effect of exclusiveness and completion of the house.
Once the wood is coated with oil of chosen colour, the natural wood pattern remains for 10–15 years and does not require any maintenance. If necessary, the colour can be easily refreshed. Natural, uncoated wood turns elegant light grey in time.
ACOUSTICS
High-quality mechanisms of the blinds with sound-absorbing elements eliminate the unwanted vibration noise of the blinds.
Due to natural properties of wood, outdoor wooden blinds function as a sound insulator and absorb the sounds from the outside.
COMPATIBILTY
Outdoor wooden blinds may be integrated in a smart home control system.
They are compatible with most systems and will allow you to have full control without additional remote controls, switches or other devices.
THERMOWOOD
Outdoor wooden blinds are made of thermally modified wood, which boasts unsurpassed longevity and is often compared to larch and teak.
Only heat and steam (190–212°C) are used for treating the wood. No chemical substances are used.
Thermally modified wood has resistance category 2 according to EN 113 standard.
During thermal modification, high temperature modifies the structure of the wood and renders the wood more stable, robust, fully resistant to moisture, mould, fungi, temperature fluctuations and other outdoor conditions.
